Centre Information
The Ráth Mór Centre has been servicing the Creggan area since 1995.
Established by Creggan Enterprises (CE) with the valuable assistance of Creggan Community Initiative, Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, International Fund for Ireland, Housing Executive, Creggan Co-Op Society, Naiscoil Na Rinne, the Social Economy Agency and many other community organisations – the Ráth Mór Centre has helped to rebuild and re-energise the Creggan community through local ownership structures, social partnerships and innovative indigenous enterprise and community support programmes.
The Ráth Mór Centre itself consists of a ground floor shopping mall, with 9 distinct commercial units including our anchor tenant – Eurospar supermarket (which includes Cafe Mor and Creggan Post Office). The first floor houses a mixture of social and community projects, as well providing spaces/rooms for a variety of community uses.
In 2010 – CE partnered with the Western Health & Social Care Trust to develop the Oaktree Centre (a purpose-built day centre for adults with learning disabilities) at Ráth Mór. 2020 also saw Creggan Enterprises complete work on the development of the area’s first and only dedicated full-time medical practice (Bayview).
The Centre acts as a hub for the local community and a number of important programmes/services and groups are deliverd by Creggan Enterprises or facilitated at Rath Mor (such as the Rath Mor 50 + Club).
The Centre is funded by Derry City Council under its Community Centre Venue Fund.
